About Me

I’m Simon Mundie, and I explore where awakening meets real life - to help you stop abandoning yourself and wake up to who you truly are.

I am an internationally-renowned coach to elite athletes, CEOs and high agency spiritual seekers and an award-winning broadcaster and an author, with a career that has placed me at the heart of elite sport for more than two decades.

I spent eight years as the sports reporter for BBC Radio 1, covering many of the world's biggest sporting events, including the London 2012 Olympic Games and the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Described as "a gem" by The Guardian, I went on to become a regular reporter for the BBC's Wimbledon coverage, where I conducted Roger Federer's final-ever interview as a player at The Championships.

Recognising that sport is a powerful metaphor for life, I launched the critically acclaimed podcast A New Way of Being (formerly Don't Tell Me the Score), where I’ve interviewed hundreds of world-class athletes, psychologists, philosophers and leading thinkers in the fields of performance, wellbeing and human potential.

My Bloomsbury book, Champion Thinking, built on these conversations, exploring the mindset, emotional intelligence and deeper principles that underpin lasting success. Drawing on insights from sporting greats including Jonny Wilkinson, Ronnie O’Sullivan, Caitlyn Jenner and Goldie Sayers, alongside renowned psychologists and philosophers, I distilled lessons from elite performance into practical wisdom that anyone can apply to their own lives.

Meanwhile I became a well-respected voice in non-dual philosophy and interviewed the world’s biggest names in this space on my YouTube channel, including Rupert Spira, Donald Hoffman, Bernardo Kastrup, Tom Campbell, Lisa Cairns and Angelo Dillulo.

Alongside this, I was pursuing a decades-long quest to escape suffering. This path took me down so many avenues – inner child work, ayahuasca ceremonies, breathwork, the Hoffman process – you name it, I’ve done it! In 2013 I experienced a powerful moment of surrender after which one synchronicity led to the next – including meeting my wife Alex.

This eventually led to me having a kensho (spiritual awakening) when I experienced the truth of non-separation and tasted my true nature directly. What followed was two weeks of profound emptiness, oneness with the totality of reality and intense kundalini energy.

While those initial fireworks have settled down and ‘Simon’ has returned, the profound Presence remains, along with an inability to leave the present moment.

Today, I bring my unique background in elite sport, journalism, philosophy and personal transformation to my coaching practice. My work helps my clients cultivate clarity, resilience and presence, enabling them to perform at their highest level while shifting their relationship with themselves, other people and life itself.

Alongside my coaching, I’ve delivered keynote talks for the UK Government, the NHS, international businesses and charities, helping audiences rethink success, performance and find flow and inner freedom.

I also work alongside my wife Alex, a Reiki master, yoga nidra teacher and sound healing practitioner. Through our retreats, as well as my videos, 1-1 and group coaching, I help you spot – and change – the unconscious patterns holding you back from living an expansive life, and move you from separation to connection with self and others.
