Mindfulness is a mental state achieved by focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations. Puddicombe, former Buddhist monk and founder of Headspace, has arguably done more than anyone to popularise mindfulness. He speaks about how the technique directly applies to sport, and how it can be used by sportspeople both on the pitch and off it. He even goes deep into the ultimate aim of meditation; to achieve enlightenment and reveal 'non-duality'.
